Huntsville Stars News Release

On Saturday May 24, the Huntsville Stars will host the first ever "Meatloaf Night" at Joe Davis Stadium prior to the team's game against the Birmingham Barons at 7:05 PM.

For Meatloaf Night, the team plans to eschew traditional cook-offs and host a meatloaf cook-off during the game. "Pastries have become passe. Chili is cliché," said Stars Director of Promotions Matt Price. "We want to do something even the Doughboy hasn't seen before."

Men and women with a can't miss family meatloaf recipes are invited to contact the Stars office and register for a position to participate in the cookoff. The meatloaf should be cooked prior to arrival at the ballpark. Once the gates are opened, fans will be allowed to taste the various loaves and vote for their favorite. The person with the winning meatloaf recipe will take home a Stars prize pack that will include a pair of 2009 Stars season tickets and of course a blue ribbon.

"What a great way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend," said Price. "Here's a chance to salute America's greatest leftover and for the mom [who swears her recipe is the best] to put her money where her mouth is."

For questions regarding or to register for Meatloaf Night contact Matt Price in the Stars' front office at (256) 882 - 2562 or at matt@huntsvillestars.com.

Tickets are available for $8 for lower level reserve seats, $7 for upper level reserve seats and $5 for General Admission and can be purchased by phone, online at www.huntsvillestars.com or at the Stars box office at Joe Davis Stadium.
