Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - A five-run fourth inning provided all the run support needed for the Tennessee Smokies in a 6-1 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts in Monday night action at AT&T Field.

Tennessee's Jeff Samardzija (3-2) and Chattanooga's Sam LeCure (1-2) were locked in a pitchers' dual for the first three innings, but the Smokies broke the ice in a big way by plating five runs in the fourth.

A two-run shot from Chris Robinson began the rally for the Smokies. Samardzija followed with a double and advanced to third on a Matt Camp single. Nate Spears followed with an RBI-double to give the Smokies a 3-0 lead. Tyler Colvin singled to right to bring home Matt Camp and Nate Spears, completing the five-run rally.

The Lookouts would finally enter the scoreboard in the sixth on a Tonys Gutierrez RBI single, which brought home Shaun Cumberland.

Tennessee would tack-on an additional run in the ninth to extend their lead to 6-1.

Despite loading the bases in the ninth, the Lookouts failed to put a dent into the Tennessee lead, and the 6-1 lead became the final score for the game.
