
Cremins to Drop First Puck

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - Bobby Cremins, a veteran of 25 seasons as a college basketball head coach and the current head coach of the College of Charleston will drop the first puck at the Stingrays Home Opener on October 21, announced the South Carolina Stingrays today.
Cremins was named head coach of the College of Charleston this summer after a six year absence from coaching to become the 21st head coach in the College of Charleston's men's basketball history. Prior to taking on the position with the Cougars, Cremins spent 19 years with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, leading them to 14 winning seasons and 14 postseason berths.
During the 1995-96 season, Cremins became Georgia Tech's all time winningest coach finishing with a record of 354-237 over his 19 seasons including three ACC tournament titles, one ACC regular season title and a share of another, and a Final Four appearance in 1989-90. He was inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame last summer and was recently inducted into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame earlier this month.
Fans, come early to see the first puck drop of the season by the College of Charleston's head coach Bobby Cremins. Activities on Saturday begin at 4:00 p.m. out on the Plaza and game time is at 7:05 p.m. Opening Night is sponsored by Carolina Dodge and the first 7,000 fans to enter the North Charleston Coliseum will receive their own Dodge Rally Towel for the season.
During the game, fans will be entertained by Super Fan Cameron Hughes all night with the ZOOperstars performing during intermission. Three lucky fans will win 1000 Powerball tickets courtesy of South Carolina Education Lottery and one fan has the chance to win $1000 with the Dunkin' Donuts Chuck-a-Puck.
