Ice Pilots announce return of radio show

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL announced today (Wednesday) that the Ice Pilots Radio Show will return this Monday, October 23 from a new location.

The Show will air live from Granny Cantrell's Restaurant located on Brent Lane and I-110 in Pensacola between 6 pm and 7 pm. on Classic Country Am 1620. The new voice of the Ice Pilots Denis J. Puska will serve as host of the show and will be joined by Head Coach George Dupont and two players. There will also be special guest interviews, prizes, surprises and much more during each program.

On this week's show, fans will be able to hear the latest from the Ice Pilots new NHL Affiliate the New York Islanders courtesy of radio broadcaster Steve Mears. The Radio Show also features a recap of the Ice Pilots first three games of the season, breaks down this year's roster and gets fans ready for the home opener on Friday, October 27.

"We are pleased to have Granny Cantrell's on board as our new home of the radio show," said Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Denis J. Puska. "We feel this location is very fan friendly and easy to get to."

The Pensacola Ice Pilots are currently in Dayton, Ohio preparing for the 2006-2007 season opener set for this Friday, Oct. 20 in Cincinnati against the Cyclones. The game will be aired live on Classic Country Am 1620 beginning with a special 30-minute edition Ice Pilots Countdown to Face Off at 6 p.m. The puck drop will follow at approximately 6:30 pm from U.S. Bank Arena.

Fans can also tune into the broadcast on B2 Networks for a nominal fee but must have high speed internet. There will be no audio streaming of the broadcast available on the Internet.

The Ice Pilots continue the opening weekend of the season on Saturday, Oct. 21 when they take on the Johnstown Chiefs at War Memorial Arena. Ice Pilots Countdown to Face-off begins at 5:40 pm followed by the play by play story at 6 pm. The long road trip concludes for the Ice Pilots on Sunday, Oct. 22 when they face the Reading Royals. The pre-game show begins at 3:15 pm followed by the puck drop at 3:35 pm.

The Pensacola Ice Pilots Home Opener is set for Friday, October 27 at 7:05 pm when they host the Texas Wildcatters at The Hangar at 7:05 pm.

Single Game Tickets are available at the Pensacola Civic Center Box Office from 10 am to 5 pm or charging by phone at (850) 434-7444. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices are $23 for glass seats, $16 for sides, $14 for goal seats and $10 upper level. Children 12 and under, as well as Military with a valid Military ID are as follows $12 for sides, $10 ends and $7 for upper level.
