KANNAPOLIS, NC - Hickory RHP Jerad Eickhoff and RHP Shawn Blackwell combined to blank the Kannapolis Intimidators, as the 'Dads won, 6-0, before 2,447 fans at CMC-Northeast Stadium in Kannapolis on Saturday night.

Eickhoff (W, 4-2) baffled the Intimidators (12-16) through the first seven innings, striking out seven batters and scattering only five hits. Blackwell, making his Crawdads debut, closed the game with two scoreless innings, striking out three batters.

After Kannapolis LHP Blair Walters (L, 0-2) and Eickhoff alternated the first five frames in scoreless fashion, Hickory (17-11) cracked the scoreless tie in the top of the sixth inning. SS Luis Sardinas started the inning by reaching on a Kannapolis throwing error. 3B Hanser Alberto promptly knocked in Sardinas with an RBI double just inside the left-field line, putting the 'Dads in front, 1-0. After a strikeout, 2B Rougned Odor reached with a single, before RF Zach Cone launched a three-run shot over the left-field fence, opening the lead to 4-0.

Hickory stayed on the attack against LHP Jefferson Olacio in the top of the seventh. Alberto led off the frame with another double just inside the left-field line. He moved to third on a grounder by RF Jordan Akins that was misplayed by Kannapolis 3B Rangel Ravelo, putting runners on the corners with no outs. Odor then skied an RBI sacrifice fly deep to right field, plating Alberto for the 5-0 advantage.

The Crawdads tacked on another run in the top of the ninth inning. Sardinas started the frame with a double and scored throughout the course of the inning on a pair of wild pitches dealt by LHP Jarrett Casey, accounting for the 6-0 final score in the 'Dads win.
