Starting a home-and-home series this evening, the Kalamazoo Wings will host the Toledo Walleye during the 31st Annual "World Famous" St. Patrick's Day Game, presented by Fifth-Third Bank, WWMT and WRKR. On the season, the K-Wings are 6-4-0-0 versus the Walleye.
Snapping a two-game losing streak last night, the K-Wings earned their second shutout of the season by defeating the Trenton Titans. Tonight is the final game of a season-long six-game home stand for Kalamazoo, who is 3-2-0-0 during the stand.
Tonight will conclude a six-game road swing for the Walleye. Toledo, who is 1-3-0-1 during their current trip, earned their lone victory of the trip Wednesday night against Kalamazoo. With 60 points, the Walleye are in fourth place in the North and trail the Cyclones by nine points for the final playoff spot.

It's Not Easy Being Green
Tonight is the 31st Annual "World Famous" St. Patrick's Day Green Ice Game, presented by Fifth-Third Bank, WWMT and WRKR. The K-Wings, who are 18-9-0-3 during home green ice games, are 0-2-0-0 since joining the ECHL and in total have dropped their last three St. Patrick Day contests.
Getting Out Quick
On the season, the K-Wings have scored 76 first period goals. The 76 first period tallies are the most of any team in the ECHL.
Killing Time
While currently ranked 20th in the ECHL in penalty killing, the K-Wings are making hard for opponents to score on the power-play. Kalamazoo has killed off the last 19 man-advantage opportunities from their opponents.
Shutting the Door
Goaltender Riley Gill stopped 26 shots last night to earn his second and the K-Wings second shutout of the season. Gill, who has five career shutouts, has earned four of them in a K-Wings uniform.
