Kalamazoo Wings News Release
A new night, but the same two opponents will lace up their skates at Wings Stadium, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Chicago Express. Kalamazoo defeated Chicago 5-2 last night at Wings Stadium and as a result took the season series lead over the Express with a record of 5-4-0-2.
Starting off their six-game home stand with back-to-back victories, the K-Wings have increased their lead in the North Division to six points over the second place Cincinnati Cyclones and 11 points ahead of the third place Express.
Finishing off a brief two-game road trip, Chicago returns into Wings Stadium looking to end a four-game (0-3-0-1) winless streak. With 62 points, the Express are in 10th overall in the Eastern Conference and trail the Florida Everblades by three points, who currently occupy the eighth and final playoff spot in conference.

Eight Isn't Enough
Forward Nick Sirota has earned points in eight straight games. The eight-game point streak is the longest current point streak by a member of the K-Wings and one game shy of tying the team's season-high.
Good Things Come in Three's Three members of the K-Wings enter this evening on three-game point streaks. Forwards Steven Anthony, Trent Daavettila and Eric Kattelus have all earned points in their last three games.
Dwight Shines Bright Forward Dwight Helminen had his K-Wings coming out party last night recording three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in the K-Wings 5-2 victory. The two-goal performance by Helminen marks the 25th times this season that a member of the K-Wings has had a multi-goal night.
Total Team Effort
Despite being one of the most offensive scoring teams in the league, the K-Wings don't have a major presence on the top scorers list. While the K-Wings are ranked first in the ECHL with an average of 3.69 goals per game, only Trent Daavettila (5th, 67 points) ranks in the top 20 in ECHL scoring.
