Countdown To Face-Off

For the second time in less than 24 hours, the Kalamazoo Wings will host the Charlotte Checkers at Wings Stadium. On the season, Kalamazoo leads the season series over Charlotte with a record of 4-0-0-1, including a 5-2 victory last night.

Closing out a four-game home stand, the K-Wings are riding a 12-game home unbeaten streak (11-0-0-1). After today, Kalamazoo will play their next seven games away from Wings Stadium and they won't return home until they host the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday, March 17th.

Losing to the K-Wings last night, the Checkers have dropped to third place in the South Division one point behind the Florida Everblades. Charlotte also enters play in sixth place in the conference, one point behind Kalamazoo and Florida, who are tied for fourth.

Good at Home

Dating back to last season, goaltender Jeremy Duchesne is unbeaten in regulation at home in his last nine appearances (6-0-2-1). Duchesne, who has gone to either overtime or a shootout in four of his seven home starts with Kalamazoo; last lost on home ice on January 30, 2009 against the Florida Everblades, when he was a member of the South Carolina Stingrays.

Rolling Along

Forwards Mathieu Curadeau and Darryl Lloyd enter this afternoon on impressive point streaks. Curadeau has recorded points in five straight games, while Lloyd, who is two points shy of 200 in his career, has earned points in three straight contests.

Right at Home

Forward Dean Strong has definitely felt at home at Wings Stadium. Strong, who is on a three-game point streak has earned points in all nine games (5 goals, 7 assists) he has played on Vanrick Drive.

Leaving Home

Concluding a four-game home stand, Kalamazoo enters today looking to extend a season-high 12-game (11-0-0-1) unbeaten streak in regulation at Wings Stadium. After today, the K-Wings won't return to Wings Stadium until Wednesday, March 17th versus Wheeling during the 29th Annual St. Patrick's Day Green Ice Game, presented by Fifth-Third Bank and WWWT.
