Ending the Streak
Besides fighting off elimination, the K-Wings will try to avoid their longest losing streak of the year. In the regular season, the K-Wings didn't drop more than three games in a row. Entering tonight, the K-Wings have lost three straight playoff games.
Feels Like the First Time (Sort Of)
While the K-Wings will look to become the first team in UHL history to comeback in a best of seven series after being down three games to none, Kalamazoo can use three other UHL teams for inspiration. In 1996-97, the Thunder Bay Thunder Cats came back to win their series against the Madison Monsters after trailing the best of five series two games to none. In 1999-00, the Madison Kodiaks (K-Wings), came back to defeat the Rockford IceHogs after trailing their best of three series one game to none. In the 2000-01 season, the Adirondack Ice Hawks came back to defeat the New Haven Night Hawks after trailing their best of five series two games to none.
Going On a Run
The K-Wings need four straight victories to advance to the next round. On the season, the K-Wings went on such a roll twice. During the regular season the K-Wings winning streaks of both 11 and 12 games.
Scoring by Committee
No player on the K-Wings roster had a multi-point against the IceHogs, but the K-Wings did score by committee in game three. Last night, twelve different K-Wing players received points in their 6-4 loss to Rockford.
