Game Preview

Division rivals will square off tonight at the Huntington Center, as the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Toledo Walleye. This evening is the six of 13 encounters between the teams. On the season, the K-Wings are 2-3-0-0 versus the Walleye.

The last time Kalamazoo traveled to Toledo was four weeks ago when the K-Wings defeated the Walleye 2-1 in the ECHL's first ever outdoor game. Heating up, the K-Wings come into the Huntington Center on a six-game winning streak.

No strangers to streaks, the Walleye are entering tonight trying to extend an eight-game (6-0-1-1) unbeaten streak. Since November 22nd, Toledo has been red-hot posting a record of 16-2-3-1. The Walleye begin the night in second place in the North Division, just two points behind the division leading, Fort Wayne Komets.

Eight isn't Enough

Forward Eric Kattelus is riding an eight-game point streak. The eight-game streak ties Kattelus with Curtis Valk for the K-Wings longest point streak this season.

Over 500

Kalamazoo's victory last Sunday improved their record to 16-15-1-1. This is the first time since November 21st that the K-Wings winning percentage as been over .500.

Kalamazoo begins the week on a six-game winning streak. The six-game streak is the longest this season for the K-Wings.

Toledo's Jeff Lerg has been on a winning streak. Lerg, who is 17-3-1-1 on the season, has won his last five starts.

While Toledo owns the league's best power-play percentage at 24,2%, they are even better at home. The Walleye rank second in the ECHL in home power-play percentage at 25%.

Toledo enters tonight on an eight -game (6-0-1-1) unbeaten streak. The Walleye, who are 16-2-3-1 in their last 22 games, suffered their lone regulation defeats in that span on December 12th and on December 27th to the K-Wings.
