Condors Sign Veteran Akim Aliu; Play in Utah Tonight

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - The Bakersfield Condors, owned by the Edmonton Oilers, announced today that the team has signed veteran RW Akim Aliu. Aliu will wear #29 and is expected in the lineup tonight when the Condors play in Utah at 6 p.m. (Fox Sports 970 | FoxSports970AM.com | iHeartRadio | ECHL.TV)
ALIU (ah-LOO) - Born: Okene, Nigeria // 25 years old // 6'4", 225 lbs. Played seven games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Calgary Flames including three points (2g-1a) in his first two games with the Flames Has spent the majority of his career in the American Hockey League with 44 goals and 27 assists for 71 points in 231 games along with 404 penalty minutes Started the 2014-15 season with the Rochester Americans (AHL) and notched three goals with one assist, four points in 10 games Point-per-game player in the ECHL with 40 points (19g-21a) in 39 games for Colorado, Toledo, and GwinnettDrafted in the 2nd round (#56 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago BlackhawksBorn in Nigeria, but spent his early childhood in Ukraine before moving to the Toronto area at the age of 10
