Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, were held in check by the Cincinnati Cyclones defense as the Cyclones emerged with a 4-0 victory at US Bank Arena. Evansville ended the night with 14 shots on goal as they fell to 11-23-3-2 (27 points) on the season.

Keeping the puck in the Evansville zone for the majority of the first period, Cincinnati eventually found the back of the net. Joe Basaraba scored from the high slot to put the Cyclones up 1-0 late in the opening stanza.

The two defenses controlled the game in the first frame. Both teams mustered just nine shots on net combined (all of them by Cincinnati). Evansville killed off three Cyclone power plays in the first period, but entered the break down 1-0.

In the second period, the IceMen fired seven shots at the net, but could not get on the board. Scott Greenham made 21 saves on 22 shots over the first two periods.

The IceMen defense and Greenham kept the IceMen in the game as they trailed 1-0 after two. Greenham stopped 27 of the 31 shots he faced on the night.

In the third period, the Cyclones netted three goals. One of those strikes came on a power play as Evansville's frustration resulted in four abuse of officials game misconducts on the IceMen and 56 penalty minutes overall.

Sam Brittain denied all 14 IceMen shots he saw to help Cincinnati to a 4-0 win. The IceMen killed seven of the eight Cyclone power plays on the night, but were unable to score on their two man advantages.
