Countdown to Face-Off: K-Wings vs Toledo

Tonight is the final regular season encounter between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Toledo Walleye.

Kalamazoo is 8-3-1-0 versus Toledo this season. Seven of the previous 13 contests between the teams have been decided by a single goal, including five that have come down to either overtime or a shootout.

This evening is a pivotal game for Kalamazoo's postseason hopes. With six games remaining in the regular season, the K-Wings trail the Walleye by seven points for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Kalamazoo does have a game in hand over Toledo.

The Walleye, who are 4-5-0-1 in their last 10 games, have been playing better of late. Toledo enters Wings Stadium winning three out of their last four games; however, the Walleye have struggled on the road, earning just one victory in their last six games away from the Huntington Center.

The crowd of 5,282 on Sunday was the largest home crowd this season for Kalamazoo. Sunday's Green Ice game also marked the third sellout of the season for the K-Wings.
