Ontario Reign News Release

BOISE, ID. - The Ontario Reign (44-17-3-4), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, took a hard 3-0 loss against the Idaho Steelheads (43-18-1-6) on Friday night before a crowd of 4,785 at CenturyLink Arena.

The first 35 minutes of the game remained scoreless until Idaho's Jace Coyle made the most of their fifth power-play opportunity of the night. After two attempted shots-on-goal, Coyle got his stick on the loose puck and fired it past Mike Condon from the right circle.

At the 7:47 mark of the third period David Toews put his Steelheads up 2-0 with a slick backhanded shot past Condon that went top-shelf for their second power-play goal of the night.

With about two minutes left on the clock, Condon skated back to the Reign bench to give Ontario an extra attacker. The Steelheads were able to find a gap in the Reign defense and send a long shot down the ice and across the crease for an empty-net goal to end the game 3-0.

Condon took the loss with 29 saves on 32 shots; Josh Robinson earned his fifth shutout saving all 30 Reign shots.
