Bakersfield Condors News Release

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - D Charlie Cook scored twice and F Andrew Sarauer had three assists to lead the Las Vegas Wranglers (34-29-2-3, 73pts) to a 4-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (21-43-2-3, 47pts) Friday night at Rabobank Arena.

The two clubs battled to a scoreless tie in the opening frame, but the period was not without action. G Brian Stewart turned aside seven shots in the Condors cage, and Vegas countered with G Joe Fallon, who made nine saves.

Las Vegas took a 1-0 lead 6:07 into the middle frame on a disputed play that saw a Wranglers attacker fall on top of Stewart. The Condors goalie was immobilized while a loose puck slid over the goal line courtesy of D Charlie Cook. D Matt Campanale wristed home his third of the season to make it 2-0 with just over five minutes left in the period. Shots were 22-17 Las Vegas after 40 minutes of play.

Bakersfield pulled within a goal just 5:20 into the third period. D Art Bidlevskii's shot deflected past Fallon for his first goal as a Condor and second of his young career. The equalizer eluded Bakersfield, however, and they surrendered an insurance tally at 15:31. The Wranglers were awarded a goal in the final minute when a penalty was taken on an empty net bid, to account for the final score.
