Stingrays Game Preview: Hall of Fame Night and Fan Appreciation Night Tonight vs. Gladiators

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays celebrate Hall of Fame Night presented by the Post and Courier and Fan Appreciation Night tonight against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 at the North Charleston Coliseum. Catch all the action live at StingraysHockey.com. Tonight is the 13 of 14 scheduled meetings between the two teams this season.

The Stingrays head into tonight's contest on a season-high 13-game home point streak (11-0-2-0). Former Stingrays forward and team captain Matt Scherer will be inducted into the Stingrays Hall of Fame during the first intermission. Defenseman Scooter Vaughan will receive the 2013 Jerry Zucker Community Service Award in a special pregame presentation.

The Stingrays can clinch a berth in the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs tonight with a win and a Kalamazoo Wings loss in regulation.

Scherer served as the Stingrays' team captain from 2009-12, played five consecutive seasons (2007-12) with the organization and is a member off the 2009 Kelly Cup Championship team. The Seattle, Washington, native ranks seventh all-time in games played as a Stingray with 308 and won the Jerry Zucker Community Service Award in 2010. During his career with the Stingrays, Scherer totaled 65 goals and 62 assists for 127 points.
