Kane County Cougars News Release
GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, along with the Northern Illinois Food Bank, are promoting Hunger Action Month through the month of September. For Cougars home games during Labor Day weekend at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark from September 1-3, fans are encouraged to wear orange, as well as participate in an online food drive to receive a special ticket discount. A link to the virtual food drive is online at kccougars.com. For every $10 donated online through the Cougars virtual food drive, fans will receive one reserved seat ticket voucher for the September 1, 2 or 3 games. An email confirmation/receipt must be presented at the Cougars box office in person in order to receive the ticket voucher(s).
"We're very excited to launch our virtual food drive through the Northern Illinois Food Bank," said Cougars Director of Public Relations Shawn Touney. "We've enjoyed a tremendous partnership with their organization over the years, and these initiatives are a call to action for those in the community to help our neighbors."
According to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, a virtual food drive provides more food to needy individuals and families than a conventional food drive, with $1 dollar equaling a total of 6 meals.
