
Cougars Lose Catcher as Homestand Begins Tonight

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that catcher Travis Jones has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Wilmington. This afternoon's transaction brings the Cougars' active roster to 24 players - one shy of the league maximum. The first-place Cougars begin a three-game series against the Burlington Bees (Oakland A's affiliate) tonight at Elfstrom Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
Jones (50th round, 2008) was on the Cougars' Opening Day roster and played in 45 games, batting .245 with four home runs and 16 RBI. Jones also hit safely in 18 of his last 21 contests (.329).
