Chicago Dogs News Release
It was all Cougars on Saturday night, as Kane County jumped off to an early 3-0 lead on a few singles in the bottom of the first inning against Dogs starter John Baker. Kane County ended up scoring 13 runs on just 12 hits, scoring four in the seventh inning on just one hit, which involved multiple walks and a wild pitch. The Dogs bullpen did not hold up well. Eric Lin (who made his pro debut), Bryson Walker, and John Kelly combined for seven earned runs over 3.2 innings of work. Thankfully, Brandon Scott threw up a scoreless eighth inning, ending the pain for the bullpen on the night. The Dogs did score on the first hit in a Chicago uniform for infielder Nick Penzetta in the top of the fourth inning, driving in Brantley Bell. The bottom three hitters in the lineup, Andy Nelson, Penzetta, and Howard Rodriguez, put together a 3-9 night with two walks, and all played great defense. The Dogs look to win the series on the road on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM, with Keoni Cavaco going for the Dogs. All Chicago Dogs games are streamed live on aabaseball.tv.
