
Cougars & Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths Announce Player Of The Month

PRINCE GEORGE, BC- Cougars fans have chosen #20 Alex Rodgers as the first Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths Player of the Month for 2009/2010. Rodgers leads the Cougars in goals this season with five, along with 4 assists for 9 points. The 20 year-old Assistant Captain was listed by the Cougars prior to this season.
Fans voted in an online poll at www.pgcougars.com, with over 40% of voters selecting Rodgers as the Cougars' most valuable player for the months of September and October. Rodgers will be honoured on the red carpet at the next home game on Friday, October 30th as the Cougars take on the Tri-City Americans.
Each month the Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths Player of the Month, as chosen by the Prince George Cougars fans, will receive a gift certificate for Shogun courtesy of Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths. The player to earn the most cumulative votes in 2009/2010 will be presented with one of a kind, handmade Darrell Hubbell original Prince George Cougars ring at the final regular season game.
"Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths is as pleased as can be to be a part of recognizing the development of young players by the Prince George Cougars," said Hubbell Designer Goldsmiths owner, Darrell Hubbell.
"Alex is very deserving of this. He has shown leadership through tough times during injuries and sickness and I look forward to seeing more from him," said Cougars General Manager, Dallas Thompson.
