October 29, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Calgary Hitmen 4-1 on Wednesday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Two first period goals by Stepan Novotny gave the Rockets all the offense they would need while goaltender Adam Brown stopped 35 shots to earn the win over the Hitmen, who remain tied for first place overall in the WHL.

Cody Chikie and Brett Bulmer added third period markers while Calgary's Joel Broda was the lone Hitmen player to beat Brown with a third period marker.

The win improves Kelowna's record to 8-6-1-0 while Calgary suffered only its fourth loss of the season. The Hitmen are rated as the top team in the Canadian Hockey League.

The Rockets are back in action this Friday night when they play host to the Spokane Chiefs. Game time is 7 p.m.
