NORMAL, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, have announced a Washington Tornado Relief Night to be held on August 2. The CornBelters will present the Washington Recreation Association with a check from funds raised during their silent auction that was held at their hot stove banquet this past winter.

The Washington, Ill. area was hit hard this past year with a tornado and the CornBelters are hosting a night to help show the community is still there supporting them to help them re-build fields that were damaged and purchase equipment that was lost during the storm.

"We are glad to have the opportunity to continue to help with the cause of helping those whose lives were devastated by the tornados in Washington last year," said CornBelters President Steve Malliet. "Now is the time everyone needs to step up and keep the awareness level high for the needs of the Washington Community."

The CornBelters have partnered with the MAC Council, Illinois Corn Marketing Board, Illinois State University, J. Anthony Designs, CEFCU and FS to help provide this night for the Washington, Ill. community. In addition to the funds raised from the silent auction, all of the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle on Saturday night will be donated back to the Washington Recreation Association.

All Washington, Ill. residents can contact the Washington Park District for more information on how to obtain complimentary tickets for the game.
