Providence, RI - The American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews announced today the selection of Jon Cooper of the Syracuse Crunch and Jeff Daniels of the Charlotte Checkers to join the coaching staffs for the 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All-Star Classic in Providence, R.I., on January 27-28.
Cooper will join Binghamton Senators head coach Luke Richardson in the Eastern Conference, while Daniels will work with Toronto Marlies head coach Dallas Eakins on the Western Conference bench. Richardson and Eakins earned coaching berths when their teams owned the best record in their respective conference at the pre-determined deadline, the end of play on Dec. 31.
Cooper, 45, is in his third season as a head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning's top development team in the AHL. The native of Prince George, B.C., has guided the Syracuse Crunch to a league-leading 49 points (22-7-2-3) this season, a year after winning the Louis A.R.
