
Regan Smith To Headline Race Night

CHARLOTTE, NC-NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, and hockey fan, Regan Smith will headline the Checkers' seventh annual Race Night, presented by Hyundai, on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. when the team hosts the Abbotsford Heat.
Joining Smith will be SPEED TV personality Bob Dillner as well as Nationwide Series driver Michael Annett, Truck Series driver Joey Coulter and dozens of other drivers from top circuits for an evening of race-themed entertainment.
The Checkers will wear specialty Race Night jerseys which will be auctioned off live after the game. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Hyundai Hope on Wheels, the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte and Saving Savannah, an extension of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at Time Warner Cable Arena by 6 p.m. as Smith, Annett, Coulter and other drivers will conduct a 45-minute autograph session on the main concourse. There will also be show cars featured on the concourse, including the Coulter Motorsports No. 97 Charlotte Checkers Chevrolet.
Additionally, the first 2,500 fans through the door will receive a Checkers pint glass, courtesy of team dentist Dr. Larry Seitlin and the first 10,000 fans will receive a Bojangles' mystery card worth $1 to $100.

The Checkers host the Grand Rapids Griffins next Wednesday and Thursday (7 p.m.) at Time Warner Cable Arena. Thursday's game will feature $1 Bud Lights. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com or the Time Warner Cable Arena box office.
