Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, CA - On Thursday, May 31st, the Fresno Grizzlies Baseball Club and Clovis Unified School District will launch the construction of a sports field designed to provide recreational opportunities for children with special needs.

This one-of-a-kind field will be home to the Junior Grizzlies, a baseball league for kids with physical and mental disabilities. Baseball diamonds were not exactly designed with wheelchairs and crutches in mind, but the Grizzlies' Field of Dreams at Gateway High School in Clovis Unified will feature a rubberized, level surface perfect for kids with physical disabilities. The field will be home to various Junior Grizzlies sports, including baseball and soccer. CUSD Special Education classes will also use the field for a variety of recreational activities.

"The Fresno Grizzlies organization is honored to be able to impact the community with this well deserved baseball field, which gives all kids the opportunity to play baseball, regardless of their limitations," said Brian Glover, Grizzlies General Partner.
