Today's match up:
The Condors meet up with the Victoria Salmon Kings for the first time since Nov. 20. The two clubs have split the previous meetings, with Bakersfield winning 3-1 on Nov. 17 and Victoria winning 4-1 in the most recent encounter. The Condors return to home ice for just their second game at Rabobank Arena since Jan. 15 (not including the ECHL All-Star Classic). Bakersfield is 26-19-7 in 52 all-time games against Victoria. This game opens up a four-game week for the Condors, who host Ontario this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Condors misc:
Eleven of the Condors last 12 games have been on the road, but 15 of the team's next 19 games (including tonight) will be at Rabobank Arena... RW Erick Lizon will return from his nine-game league imposed suspension on Saturday. Despite not having played since Jan. 28 nearly three weeks ago, Lizon still leads the ECHL with 166 PIM (16 more than the next closest player)... RW Stephane Goulet was the Condors ECHL Player of the Week nomination last week, recording five points (1g-4a) in the three-game set in Boise. In January, Goulet had a stretch in which he was held without a point in seven of eight contests, but has since recorded a point in eight of his last nine games, with 4g-7a-11pts... The Condors have allowed five or more goals at home only once all season, but nine times on the road.
Transactions:
Andrew Ianiero was activated from 7-day IR today... F Tibor Varga was placed on the 3-day IR yesterday and is eligible to be activated on Thursday. Varga was signed by the Condors last Wednesday out of the 'A' Federal Hockey League, where he was tied for the top spot in league scoring... C Rylan Kaip and LW J.D. Corbin both remain on 21-day IR, though both are eligible to be activated.
