Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals return to First Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 16 and Friday, Feb. 18 as they welcome the Trenton Devils to Elmira. The Jackals are back at home for the first time in the month of February as they come off of a season-long six-game road trip on the west coast.

Elmira leads Trenton by nine points for second place in the division and is one point out of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

Wednesday's game is Willowcreek Wednesday, as fans will have a chance during the second intermission to win passes to Willowcreek Golf Club in Big Flats. On Friday, WETM-TV 18 will be giving away candy bars to fans entering First Arena for the Jackals' second game of the week against the Devils.

To purchase tickets call (607) 734-PUCK (7825), visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto the new JackalsHockey.com.

Elmira heads to Trenton on Saturday for the final of three-straight games against the Devils and then takes on the Reading Royals on Sunday at the Sovereign Center.

ELMIRA ESTABLISHES THREE-GAME POINT STREAK

The Jackals took points in each of their final three games of the road trip this past weekend against the Ontario Reign.

Elmira began the weekend with a shootout loss to Ontario, 5-4, in the Jackals' first shootout appearance of the season.

On Saturday, the Reign overcame a 5-3 third-period deficit to force overtime, eventually winning the game on a goal by Alex Bourret.

The Jackals ended the road trip with a dramatic 3-1 win on Sunday, getting a late power-play goal from Patrick Coulombe for their first lead of the game and then sealing it on a Jason Bailey empty netter. Timo Pielmeier stopped 26 shots for his first victory with Elmira while Justin Donati extended his season-long point streak to seven games (3g-11a). Donati is five games away from equaling the longest point streak in the ECHL this season.

COULOMBE COMES UP CLUTCH AGAIN

Patrick Coulombe has scored two clutch goals for the Jackals a month apart from one another. Coulombe scored the go-ahead goal with 1:43 remaining in the third period on Sunday, a month after he notched the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory in Toledo with 3:18 to go in regulation on Jan. 12. Elmira's captain is third among ECHL defensemen with 10 goals and is tied for fourth with 27 points.
