Idaho Steelheads News Release
(Boise, ID) - Head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Tuesday that forward Adam Huxley has been loaned from the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.
It will be the second time Huxley has suited up for the Wolves this season. He earned a spot on Chicago's Opening-Night roster out of training camp and skated in a pair of games before being sent back to Idaho. He also played five games for the AHL's Springfield Falcons during the 2008-2009 season.
The 27-year-old Alberta native is in his seventh full season of professional hockey and second season with the Steelheads. He led the team with 210 penalty minutes last season as the team's primary enforcer and is second on the team this season with 112 PIMs despite only skating in 32 of the team's 51 games. He's also having one of his most-productive seasons offensively, with four goals and ten assists after setting a career-high with 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) last season.
The Steelheads are back at home Friday night to host long-time rival Alaska at 7 PM at Qwest Arena. It's RC Willey "Family Night," with 2-for-1 vouchers available only at RC Willey on Eagle Road. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
