Condors to Hold Job Fair and National Anthem Tryouts

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League announced today their 2002-03 Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 17th, from 5:30pm until 7:30pm at the Holiday Inn Select.

The Job Fair will highlight part-time positions for the upcoming season within the Condors organization. Interviews will be held the night of the job fair. Available openings include:

· Merchandise sales
· Program sales
· Giveaway Distribution
· Chuck-A-Puck sales/clean up

· Slapshot game
· Fan entertainment crew
· Mascots
· Back-up Public Address announcer

"The Job Fair is a huge event every season," said Condors Assistant General Manager Chris Freshour. "Anyone who has wanted to become a part of a professional sports organization should come out. It's the perfect opportunity to become a big part of the excitement this season."

The Condors National Anthem tryouts will be held on Wednesday, September 18th from 4:00-6:00pm at Centennial Garden. Anyone interested in auditioning should contact Community Relations Director John Ayre at 324-PUCK (7825).

The 2002-03 season is just 33 days away, with the Condors hosting the defending Taylor Cup Champion Fresno Falcons on Saturday, October 12th. Season tickets and group outings for this season are now available and may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden.

Condor Droppings. . . Registration for the Condors Invitational Charity Golf tournament is now underway for all season ticket holders and corporate partners. Benefiting the Alliance Against Family Violence, the entry fee is $95 apiece or $380 for a foursome, and includes golf, dinner, and prizes. A Condors player or coach will join each foursome. To register, contact the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825)... The Condors annual Open House & Family Day at Centennial Garden will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Admission to the Open House is free with a donation of a non-perishable food item to the Golden Empire Gleaners. The Open House is also the first day that season tickets are available for pick-up by season ticket holders. The first public skate of the year is also planned from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Cost of the skate is $7.00 and $3.00 for skate rental, or bring your own... The September website auction features the Dirty Dozen Opening Night Extravaganza package. The winner receives 12 mezzanine level tickets for opening night on October 12th, 12 car flags and 12 autographed souvenir programs. Log on to www.bakersfieldcondors.com to bid.
