December 22, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (6-20-3-0, 15pts) jumped out to 1-0 and 2-1 leads, but couldn't hold on as the Colorado Eagles (17-8-0-3, 37pts) fought back to win 3-2 Wednesday night at Rabobank Arena.
Bakersfield jumped out to an early lead, with LW Jesse Gimblett tickling the twine just 32 seconds into the contest, jamming in a loose puck for his seventh of the season. Just over four minutes later the Eagles tied it up with D Jon Landry's tally. But F Peter Boyd regained the advantage for the Condors at the 10:00 mark, with a power play tally.
The Condors held a 14-9 shots lead in the middle period, but Colorado scored the only goal. F Riley Nelson snapped home a one-timer on the man-advantage at 16:04 to make it 2-2.
F Michael Forney scored early in the third to give the Eagles their first lead of the night, just 2:22 into the period. That proved to be the game winner, as Bakersfield failed to get the equalizer. The final shot total was 36-27 in favor of the Condors.
