
Condors get back-to-back wins against Stockton and Ontario for Christmas

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors won consecutive games on the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice during the holiday weekend, topping two inner-division opponents, the Stockton Thunder and Ontario Reign, by the combined score of 13-5. The Condors received 11 multi-point performances in the two games.
The Condors are 11-14-4 on the season, and in 3rd place in the Pacific Division with 26 points. Bakersfield is just two points behind the Las Vegas Wranglers for 2nd place in the division.

The Condors came back from a 3-2 deficit in the first period with five unanswered goals in the second and third to cruise to a 7-3 victory against the Stockton Thunder on Friday. G Ryan Nie (right) replaced starter Yutaka Fukufuji in net to start the second period and stopped all 31 shots he faced to earn the win. F Tylor Michel scored twice, while C Dave Bonk, F Andrew Ianiero, RW Chad Painchaud, F Matt Pope and RW Mike Wirll each lit the lamp once for the Condors.

Ontario opened the scoring early in the first period, but the Condors scored twice in each period en route to the 6-2 victory Sunday evening. RW Chad Painchaud, F Andrew Ianiero, D Martin Frechette and F Matt Pope scored four consecutive goals in the first and second, and RW Mike Wirll (left) added two of his own in the third to seal the win. The Condors out-shot Ontario, 41-22, in the second and third periods alone, and G Ryan Nie stopped 34 of 36 shots to earn his sixth win of the season.
NO COACH'S SHOW THIS WEEK:

PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
The Condors are 2nd in the league in average attendance at 6,147 fans per game.
F Andrew Ianiero has a seven-game point streak, during which he has 7g-6a. He notched 2g-3a in the two games last weekend.
F Tylor Michel (right) recorded back-to-back three point performances with 2g-1a on Friday and 0g-3a on Sunday. His two-goal game on Friday was the first multi-goal game of his pro career.
RW Chad Painchaud and F Matt Pope are both on a five-game point streak, during which they have combined for 8g-10a-18pts. Painchaud recorded 1g-2a in each of the weekend's games and Pope finished the two tilts with a combined 2g-2a.
Pope leads the team, is 2nd among ECHL rookies and tied for 5th in the league with 17 goals this season. He is also tied for the team lead (with Painchaud) and is 5th among the league's rookies with 29 points.
After missing 12 games, C Dave Bonk (right) returned from the 30-IR to record 1g-2a in the two weekend games. Dating back to the games prior to his injury, Bonk has 5g-7a in his last six games.
The Condors are now 6th in the league on the power play, at 19.5% on the season. They went 5-for-17 over the two games last weekend.
The Condors have held their opponents without a power play goal (0-for-18) in their last five games.
The Condors acquired C Bruce Graham from Gwinnett in exchange for future considerations on Sunday. The 6-foot-6-inch native of Moncton, New Brunswick, was 2nd on Gwinnett with 10 goals and had 20 points in 29 games this season. He is expected to join the Condors in Phoenix for their game on Tuesday.
RW Jason Bailey remains on the 3-IR, though he is eligible to be activated. D Chris Kaufman was placed on the 7-IR on Sunday and will be eligible to be activated on Jan. 4. LW Bobby Bolt remains on the 30-IR and will be eligible to be activated on Dec. 30.
AFTER FOUR-GAME TRIP, CONDORS RETURN HOME TO GIVE AWAY 1,000 GALLONS OF GAS:
The Condors hit the road for a four-game trip, starting in Phoenix on Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. and continuing with a three-game series in Victoria this weekend. The Condors and Salmon Kings will face off Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m., and wrap up the series with a matinee on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
All four games will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1230, B2 Networks and Bakersfieldcondors.com, and be sure to tune in 15 minutes early for Condors Countdown!
The Condors return to the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice on Friday, Jan. 9 for the 1,000 Gallons of Gas Giveaway, sponsored by My 45 and KUZZ 107.9, during which 40 fans will win 20 gallons of gas, while one grand-prize winner will get 200 gallons of gas!
The next night, Saturday, Jan. 10, the Condors host their long-time rivals, the Alaska Aces, for the Zamboni Pillow Giveaway, sponsored by Pirate 93.1 and Goodwill Industries. The first 2,000 fans, 5-and-older, will receive a Condors Zamboni pillow!
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at Bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available at the Condors office located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue or by calling 324-PUCK (7825).
The Condors Front Office will be closed from Wednesday - Friday for the New Year, but will return to normal business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.) on Monday, Jan. 5.
The Condors Team Store will be closed from Wednesday - Saturday for the New Year, but will return to normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, noon to 3 p.m.) on Monday, Jan. 5.
The Rabobank Arena Box Office will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for the New Year, but will return to its usual schedule of Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting Friday, Jan. 2.
