Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors skated their way to a 3-2 victory over the Idaho Steelheads in front of 3,300 fans at Rabobank Arena on Monday night. C Tim Konsorada tallied the game-winner early in the third, as G Yutaka Fukufuji stopped 25 of 27 shots en route to his 11th win of the season.

The Condors (19-33-9, 47 points) spent much of the first period in the offensive zone, and took a 1-0 lead in the game. LW Tom Boudreau scored his third of the season, his first as a Condor, at 14:24 on the power play. F Andrew Ianiero and D Martin Frechette picked up the assists, with Frechette notching his third point in just four games since being acquired last week. Bakersfield outshot the Idaho Steelheads (34-21-9, 77 points), 12-7, in the period. The two clubs exchanged tallies midway through the second, with three goals in the span of less than four minutes. The Steelheads tied it up at 10:04 with a power play goal by LW Lance Galbraith. Bakersfield countered with LW Brett Lutes' 19th of the season, wristing a rebound from the glass to the top shelf at 12:22. However, at 13:50 Idaho tied it up again, with F John Lammers slipping home his 24th of the season. The Condors led in shots through two periods, 28-16.

It only took 1:08 of play in the third period for C Tim Konsorada to snap the eventual game-winner into the back of the Steelheads net after being set up by Lutes and Frechette, who both picked up their second points of the contest. Fukufuji turned away all 12 Idaho shots in the final frame, making sure Konsorada's tally was the final goal of the game.
