Perry returns to Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 11, 2008)-Defenseman Todd Perry has been reassigned from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, Inferno head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today.

Perry, 21, returns to the Inferno after playing three games with the Marlies since being recalled on March 1st. In that time, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Ingleside, Ontario recorded his first career AHL assist. Perry has played a total of eight games with the Marlies this year, notching one assist and eight penalty minutes.

Perry has played in 44 games with the Inferno this season, his first in the ECHL, scoring 21 points (five goals, 16 assists) and logging 63 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, Perry had 51 points (four goals, 46 assists) and 340 penalty minutes in 163 Ontario Hockey League games with the Barrie Colts and London Knights from 2004-05 through 2006-07.

The Inferno return to the Carolina Coliseum on Wednesday, March 12 to host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:05 p.m.
