Nailers Announce St. Baldrick's Day With The Pittsburgh Pirates

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the "AA" affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers, will be hosting Pittsburgh Pirates Night this Friday, March 14 at 7:35pm. It is the same night the Nailers will help raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation and wear special Guinness St. Patrick's Day jerseys.

Former Pittsburgh Pirates and World Series Champions Bob Robertson and Grant Jackson will be in attendance and available for autographs from 7-8pm. The Pirate Parrot and Captain Jolly Roger along with two members of the "Cannonball Crew" will entertain the crowd during the Nailers game with the Cincinnati Cyclones. In between periods the famed Pittsburgh Pirates promotion, the Great Pierogi Race, will make its way to WesBanco Arena.

It will also be the annual St. Baldrick's Night at the game. St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.

Tangles Hair & Nail Studio will have representatives in the concourse shaving fans' heads for a $5 donation to St. Baldrick's Foundation. Plus $1 from every regularly priced ticket sold will be donated by the Nailers.

Following the game, the Nailers Guinness St. Patrick's Day jerseys will be auctioned off live in the arena. Bids will be accepted online leading up to the auction starting on Wednesday, March 12 by visiting www.wheelingnailers.com/Iframes/proxy_bid.htm.
