Blades Sign Rookie Prough

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that rookie forward Jeff Prough has been signed to a contract.

Prough (pronounced PROO) signs with the Everblades after completing his collegiate career at Brown University. During his senior campaign in 2007-08 the 21-year-old Assistant Captain led the Bears with 26 points (7g, 19a) in 31 games. His assist total was also first on the squad.

In his best season at Brown, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound forward notched 33 points (16g, 17a) in 32 games his junior year, leading the team in points. Over his four-year collegiate career at Brown he amassed 109 points (49g, 60a) in 127 games.

During his sophomore season in 2005-06 the native of Farmington Hills, Michigan skated in all 32 of the Bears' games and led the team with 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points, en-route to being only the third sophomore in Brown's history to receive the team's MVP award.

Prior to joining Brown, Prough spent one season at the junior level in the United States Hockey League with the Sioux Falls Stampede. In 53 career USHL games he scored 8 goals and added 17 assists.
