Elmira Jackals News Release

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that they have signed right wing Maxime Boisclair (boh-KLAIR) to an ECHL contract.

Bosiclair, 22, is a 6-foot, 205-pound native of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. He makes Elmira his third stop this season after appearing in one contest with the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) and Saint-Hyacinthe of the North American Hockey League in Quebec. Pointless in his one appearance with the Crunch in Sunday's 2-1 overtime win in Toronto, Boisclair appeared in 47 games with Saint-Hyacinthe and entered last weekend with a league-leading 82 points on the strength of 29 goals and 53 assists.

Boisclair took his game to another level in his final two junior seasons (2004-2006) in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, scoring 121 goals and 238 points in 140 games with Chicoutimi.

With Boisclair's much anticipated arrival, the Jackals begin a stretch of four games in six nights tomorrow night at Reading (6:35 p.m.).

"Having agreed to terms several weeks ago, it's been rough awaiting his arrival while playing with such a short line-up," said Jackals head coach Steve Martinson. "We finally have him here, he's ready to go and I'm expecting an immediate impact."

Last season with Johnstown (ECHL), Boisclair led the Chiefs in scoring with 51 points and saw duty with the American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons with one goal in 17 games.
