Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors have acquired forward Tom Boudreau from the Reading Royals (ECHL), Head Coach Marty Raymond announced today. The acquisition of Boudreau completes the deal announced yesterday, in which the Condors traded defenseman Steven Later to Reading in exchange for future considerations.

Boudreau, 24, joins the Condors after spending time this season with both the Indiana Ice Miners in the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League and the Royals. In seven games with Reading, Boudreau has notched four points (2g-2a) and four penalty minutes, and recorded a point in each of his first three ECHL games. His 46 points (17g-29a) in 18 games with the Ice Miners are still tied for fourth in the single 'A' MAHL even though he has not skated in the league since Dec. 29.

The 5-foot-8 inch, 165 pound native of Oak Lawn, Illinois has played in Sweden in the first division the last two years. He skated in 31 games for Huddinge IK in 2006-07, netting one goal and spending 14 minutes in the penalty box. He also suited up 15 times for Lindlovens IF last year and scored eight points (2g-6a). Boudreau played for Lindlovens IF in 2005-06 as well, tallying 19 points (12g-7a) and 32 penalty minutes in 31 games.

Prior to heading overseas, Boudreau played 44 games at Robert Morris College (American Collegiate Hockey Association) in his home state of Illinois in 2004-05. He posted 67 points (25g-42a) and 19 penalty minutes.

"We're looking for young guys who are eager to work hard," Raymond said. "Tom has a lot of speed and he works very hard - we're excited to bring him in."

In 21 games with Bakersfield this season, Steven Later accumulated 14 points (6g-8a) and 65 penalty minutes while skating as both a defenseman and a forward.
