Chicago Wolves News Release
WINNIPEG, Man. - Eric Comrie made 33 saves as the Manitoba Moose shut out the Chicago Wolves, 2-0, for the first time in nine years Saturday afternoon at Bell MTS Place. The Moose last blanked the Wolves on Oct. 23, 2009, at Allstate Arena.
It marked just the second time this season the Wolves (27-18-6-2) have been shut out by an opponent. They were last held scoreless on Nov. 8 by the Milwaukee Admirals.
After a scoreless first period, the Moose (34-14-4-3) sprung out to their two-goal lead beginning at 6:25 of the second session. Cam Maclise zipped a wrist shot past Kasimir Kaskisuo (12-12-2) from the left circle.
Then 2:31 later, the Moose extended their lead to 2-0 when, on the rush, Francis Beauvillier snapped a shot the top of the left circle.
The 2-0 score stood although Kaskisuo made 37 saves in the game - including stopping 19 of 21 shots during the second period.
The Wolves and Moose return to action Sunday, Feb. 25, for the second of back-to-back games in Winnipeg. Puck drop is 2 p.m. and the game will stream on AHLLive.com. For complete game and broadcast schedules, visit ChicagoWolves.com.
