Kossila Recalled by Anaheim

SAN DIEGO - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Kalle Kossila from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Kossila, 24 (4/14/93), has recorded 1-1=2 points in 10 games with Anaheim this season. Kossila earned his first career NHL point (assist) in a 6-2 victory on Oct. 24 in Philadelphia and scored his first career NHL goal vs. James Reimer on Oct. 26 in Florida.

Signed as a free agent on Mar. 30, 2016, Kossila earned 13-25=38 points with a +9 rating and 22 penalty minutes (PIM) in 35 AHL games with San Diego this season. The 5-10, 185-pound center led the Gulls in scoring, assists and plus/minus, ranked tied for second in goals, and tied for third in power-play goals (5). Kossila was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 7 after recording 1-6=7 points in three games.
