Comets Assigned Jeremy Welsh

Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have assigned center Jeremy Welsh to the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League.

Welsh, 25, played in 69 games, and recorded 26 points (14-12-26) with the Charlotte Checkers last year in his first professional season. He also appeared in five games, and collected one assist with the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes. The 6'3", 210-pound native of Bayfield, Ontario has played in six career NHL games.

Welsh was acquired by the Canucks organization in a trade, along with forward Zac Dalpe, on Sept. 29.
