THIS WEEK'S GAMES

Friday, October 4 vs Chicago Wolves

AT&T Center, 7:30 p.m.

The Rampage open the 2013-14 campaign on Friday, Oct. 4 at AT&T Center against the Chicago Wolves on a KZEP / Bud Light Dollar Drink Night. Last season, the Rampage split four games against Chicago (2-2- 0-0). The Rampage and Wolves will again square off four times this season, three of which will come within the first two weeks of the sea- son, as San Antonio will travel to the Windy City next week for games on Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 12-13).

Saturday, October 5 vs Rockford IceHogs

AT&T Center, 7:00 p.m.

The Rampage continue their Opening Weekend homestand on Saturday against the Rockford Ice Hogs. San Antonio posted a 1-2-0-1 record against Rockford last season, with the team's lone win coming in the club's third-annual Pink in the Rink Night on Feb. 1, 2013. Forward Jack Combs led the way against Rockford last season, tallying two goals and one assist against the IceHogs.

OPENING NIGHT - Friday, Oct. 4

The Rampage open the 2013-14 season on Friday, Oct. 4 at AT&T Center. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. on a KZEP / Bud Light $1 Drink Night where fans can get $1 draft beer and $1 fountain soda during every Friday Rampage home game.

$1 HOT DOG NIGHT - Saturday, Oct. 5

The Rampage are introducing $1 Hot Dog Night fea- turing $1 Hot Dogs plus $1 Popcorn, sponsored by MAGIC 105.3, for all 11 home Saturday games at AT&T Center starting on Saturday, Oct. 5 when the Rampage square off against the Rockford IceHogs at 7:00 p.m.

PRESEASON: The Rampage played their only two preseason games leading up to the 2013-14 season this weekend at Cedar Park Center. On Saturday, forward Jared Gomes scored the game-tying goal with 12.9 seconds left and scored the team's lone shootout goal to help the Rampage to a 2-1 win over the Oklahoma City Barons. San Antonio wrapped up their preseason slate on Sunday with a 3-0 defeat to the Texas Stars.

FAMILIAR FACES: Several familiar faces will be returning to the Rampage this season, including Greg Rallo, Michael Caruso, Eric Selleck, Alex Petrovic, Quinton Howden and Dov Grumet-Morris.

MVPs: The Rampage roster features the last two Red Tilson Trophy winners, which is awarded to the most outstanding player on the Ontario Hockey League. Center Vincent Trocheck bagged the award last year after leading the league with 50 goals and 59 assists in 63 games. Michael Houser also became the first American-born goaltender to win the honor in 2011-12 after posting a 46-15-0-1 record and tying the OHL single season record for most wins by a goaltender. Former Red Tilson Trophy winners include Tyler Seguin, John Tavares, Corey Perry, Brian Campbell and Eric Lindros.

ICE CHIPS: Jared Gomes-Center

Jared Gomes enters his second season with the Rampage after leading the club in game's played last season (73). Gomes notched the game- tying goal in Saturday's preseason tilt against the Oklahoma City Barons with only 12.9 seconds remaining in regulation. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound center went on to score San Antonio's only goal in the shootout to help the Rampage to a 2-1 victory over the Barons. Gomes finished the 2012- 13 season with 16 goals and 17 assists and wrapped up his rookie cam- paign on a five game goal scoring streak.
