
Anaheim Assigns Four Players to Norfolk; Bobkov Assigned to Utah

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced Monday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned four players to the Norfolk Admirals, and have assigned goaltender Igor Bobkov to the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL:
Assigned to Norfolk (AHL):
John Kurtz - Left wing
Rickard Rakell - Center
Brad Staubitz - Right wing
Nolan Yonkman - Defenseman
Assigned to Utah (ECHL):
Igor Bobkov - Goaltender
Kurtz, 24, returns to Norfolk, after totaling 8 points (3g, 5a) and 103 penalty minutes in 59 appearances with the Admirals last season.
Rakell, 20, is a 2011 first-round draft selection (30th overall) of Anaheim. He went scoreless in four appearances with the Ducks last season. He totaled a balanced 149 points (68a, 81a) in three season with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) from 2010-13.
Staubitz . 29. has posted 21 points (10g, 11a) in 230 NHL games played in stints with San Jose, Minnesota, Montreal, and most recently Anaheim.
Yonkman, 32, spent a majority of last season with the San Antonio Rampage logging seven assists in 71 appearances. The 6-6, 253-pound defenseman has appeared in 71 NHL games totaling nine points (1g, 8a) and 140 penalty minutes split between playing time with Washington, Phoenix, and Florida.
Bobkov, 22, heads to Utah after posting an 11-17-0 record which included two shutout performances in 28 appearances with Norfolk last season.
Anaheim's Season Opening 23-man roster has now been finalized.
The 25th season of Admirals hockey opens on October 5 at Hartford. The Admirals home opener will take place on Friday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. against the Binghamton Senators. single game tickets are now on sale!
