Columbus Reassigns Walser to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY (March 28, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Derrick Walser to Syracuse.

Walser, 28, has appeared in six games with Columbus this season, recording two goals. In 42 games with Syracuse this season, Walser has tallied 9 goals, 24 assists and 57 penalty minutes. Walser was part of the Columbus organization from 2001-04 in which he split time with the Blue Jackets and Crunch. A native of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Walser has 88 NHL games to his credit all with Columbus, in which he has registered 8 goals, 21 assists and 56 penalty minutes.

The Crunch travel to Albany on Wednesday, March 28 for a 7:00 p.m. game.
