Defenseman FitzGerald Reassigned to Alaska

Peoria, IL (March 28, 2007) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that defenseman Zack FitzGerald has been reassigned to the ECHL Alaska Aces by the St. Louis Blues. McDonald also announced today that rookie right wing Kevin Croxton was returned on loan to Alaska.

FitzGerald, 21, has played 29 games for the Rivermen, recording two assists and 86 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot-1, 214-pound native of Two Harbors, Minnesota began the season with Alaska, appearing in six games with one assist and 22 PIM. Last year, FitzGerald split time between Peoria and Alaska, skating in 25 contests, tallying four points (2g, 2a) and 155 PIM overall.

Croxton, 24, ranked second on the Aces with 20 goals and sixth on the team with 42 points before being recalled to Peoria on February 14. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Calgary, Alberta has played 13 games with the Rivermen, recording 7 points (2g, 5a).

The Rivermen are in the middle of a six-game road trip, with the final four match-ups in the state of Texas. On Friday, March 30, Peoria takes on the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the Rivermen travel to San Antonio to face-off against the Rampage. Saturday's contest is at 7:00 p.m. and kicking off April, Peoria battles San Antonio again at 5:00 p.m. The Rivermen then finish off the Texas swing back in Houston on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:05 p.m. Peoria returns to Carver Arena Friday, April 6 versus the Aeros. It is Coca-Cola/Insight Date Night where t wo (2) upper bowl tickets, two (2) Cokes & a tub of popcorn is just $25; it is also Coyote Creek Golf Night in which the first 500 golfers will receive a golf ball. Claude Scott "the Happy Trumpeter" will also make an appearance. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
