Colts Select Goalie In Import Draft

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that they have selected goalie Mathias Niederberger with the 25th overall selection in the 2011 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

Niederberger, 18, from Duesseldorf, Germany played last season with the Deg Metro Stars of the DEL.

The 5'11", 160-pound goalie will be eligible for the NHL Entry Draft in 2012.

The Colts traded the first overall pick in the draft to acquire London's 25th overall selection, two future picks in the OHL Priority Selection and 6'4" defenceman Reid McNeill.

Barrie will kick off the second round of the Import Draft with the 61st overall pick.
