Majors Select Kuptsov 16th Overall in the CHL Import Draft

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors have selected Sergey Kuptsov with the 16th overall pick in the 2011 CHL Import Draft. The pick originally belonged to the Sudbury Wolves. Kuptsov, 16, was born on October 6, 1994. He stands 6'2 and weighs in at 185 pounds. The Russian native is a member of the Salavat UFA Jr. Team in Russia. He was recently selected in the Kontinental Hockey League draft. Kuptsov will not be eligble for the National Hockey League Draft until 2013.
2011-12 Mississauga St. Michael's Majors season tickets are available now by calling 905-502-7788 x. 1. The team kicks off their home schedule with a re-match of the 2011 OHL Championship Series against the Owen Sound Attack on September 30 at the Hershey Centre. Season ticket holders also get free admission to the Majors three home exhibition games which will be played on Thursday, September 8 at Iceland Arena, Saturday, September 10 at Port Credit Arena and Saturday, September 17 at Vic Johnston Arena.
