
Collier Fires Quality Start on Sunday

The SeaWolves seven-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday afternoon as they could not hold on to an early lead, falling to the Bowie Baysox, 9-4 at Jerry Uht Park.
The SeaWolves jumped ahead in the first against Bowie starter John Means. Casey Frawley singled with one out and was doubled home by Connor Harrell for a 1-0 lead. Jason Krizan then singled to move Harrell over to third. With two outs, Dominic Ficociello singled home Harrell for a 2-0 lead.
Bowie got on the board in the second against Erie starter Tommy Collier. With one out, Joey Terdoslavich walked and was doubled home by Austin Wynns to make it a 2-1 game.
Erie went back ahead by two runs in the last of the fourth. With one out, Drew Longley walked and Ismael Salgado was hit by a pitch. With two outs, Harold Castro singled, loading the bases for Frawley. Frawley drew a 3-2 count and walked, plating Longley for a 3-1 lead.
The Baysox again cut into the lead in the top of the fifth when Drew Dosch homered to right. The solo blast was his third of the season and second of the series.
In the bottom of the fifth, the SeaWolves would go ahead 4-2. Jason Krizan led off with a triple down the right field line and he came home to score on a Longley double.
The Erie lead held until the top of the seventh against reliever Santiago Garrido. With one out, Julio Borbon homered to right making it 4-3. Tucker Nathans and Chance Sisco followed with consecutive singles, putting the tying and go-ahead runs on base. Garabez Rosa singled to right, plating Nathans, tying the game. On the play, a failed run-down allowed Sisco to score, making it 5-4 Bowie.
The Baysox added to the lead in the eighth. Wynns led off with a double. Adrian Marin followed with a sacrifice bunt and on a Garrido throwing error, Wynns scored and Marin reached safely. With one out, Borbon singled putting runners on the corners. Nathans doubled home both baserunners giving the Baysox an 8-4 lead.
Bowie would add one more in the ninth off of reliever Confesor Lara and went on to take the final game of the series 9-4.
Garrido (0-2) took the loss allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits in 1.1 innings.
Bowie reliever Bobby Bundy (2-0) earned the win tossing 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits with no walks and three strikeouts.
Collier took the no-decision despite tossing a quality start. He allowed two runs on six hits with three walks and four strikeouts in six innings of work.
The SeaWolves begin a three-game series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. LHP Josh Turley (1-5, 5.82 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP Taylor Cole (0-0, 0.00 ERA).
