Colin Stuart Named Comets Captain for Inaugural Season

Utica Comets head coach Travis Green announced today that veteran forward Colin Stuart has been named the first team captain in Comets history.
Pascal Pelletier and Yann Sauve have been named as assistant captains for the 2013-14 season by the head coach as well.
"Colin provides all the qualities that we look for in the leader of our team," said Green. "His work ethic, integrity and experience make him the ideal candidate to lead this team. The leadership on this team will continue to come from many players, including Pascal and Yann, but we are proud to make Colin our captain."
Stuart, 31, also served as the captain of the American Hockey League's Rochester Americans during the 2011-12 campaign. A veteran of nearly 500 games in the AHL, and almost 600 as a professional, Stuart won a Calder Cup Championship with the Chicago Wolves in 2007-08.
Pelletier, 30, has spent the last three seasons playing in Switzerland with Langnau where he served as the captain of his team. He appeared in his 600th professional game on Oct. 26, split between the AHL, NHL, ECHL, and Swiss National League.
Sauve, 23, is in his fourth professional season out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He seen action in 129 AHL games with Manitoba, Chicago and Utica. The Rigaud, QC native was originally selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the second round (#41 overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The Comets continue a six-game homestand tonight when they welcome the Abbotsford Heat at 7 p.m. All kids 12 and under wearing a Halloween costume can get in free.
