Clowe reassigned to Cleveland

CLEVELAND - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forward Ryane Clowe to the Cleveland Barons.

Clowe has split the season between San Jose and the Barons, earning two goals and four assists for six points in three games with the Barons this season. Clowe began the season with the Sharks, but was assigned to Cleveland on November 20th. He was recalled on December 3rd and has recorded two assists and nine penalty minutes in 16 total NHL games this season.

Last season the six-foot-two, 225-pound native of St. John's Newfoundland registered the second most prolific season in Barons history, leading the Barons in goals (27), assists (35), points (62) and plus/minus (+19). He was honored for his efforts as the team's most valuable player.

Clowe appeared in 72 games during the 2003-04 season. During his rookie campaign, he totaled 11 goals and 29 assists (11-29-40) with 97 penalty minutes.

Clowe was selected by San Jose in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Barons will play three games at National City Rink located in The Q this week, starting Wednesday, December 14th when they take on the Rochester Americans at 7:05pm. They play Toronto on Friday, when they will induct the newest class of legends into the Cleveland Hockey Legends Ring of Honor, before taking on the Americans again in a Saturday afternoon game.
