Rinne Recalled by Predators

Milwaukee, WI-Nashville Predators Executive Vice-President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the team has recalled goaltender Pekka Rinne from the Milwaukee Admirals. In addition, Admirals Executive Vice-President/General Manager Phil Wittliff announced that the team had signed defenseman Nathan Lutz and forward Rich Peverley to AHL contract and recalled goalie Scott Reid.

Rinne has posted a 10-6-1 record, a 2.15 goals against average, and a .917 save percentage in his first professional season. His GAA is tops among AHL rookie goaltenders and third among all goalies. The Kempele, Finland native, who is currently on a three-game winning streak with the Admirals, is the eighth Milwaukee player to be recalled by the Predators this season.

Peverley has picked up three goals and seven assists for 10 points and +2 rating in 13 games for the Admirals since being recalled from Rockford on November 19. Lutz, a member of the Admirals 2004 Calder Cup Championship team, has played in 15 games for Milwaukee, registering an assist, six penalty minutes, and a +3 rating.

Reid joins the Admirals from the Corpus Christi Rayz of the CHL. In 16 games for the Rayz, Reid has compiled a 7-8-1 record and a 2.83 goals against average and a .928 save percentage.

The Admirals are at home for a pair of home games this weekend. On Friday, Milwaukee will entertain the Omaha Knights at 7 pm. The first 5,000 fans will receive a t-shirt courtesy of Robert W. Baird and ESPN Radio. On Sunday the Ads take on the Cleveland Barons at 4 pm and the first 3,500 fans 14 and under will receive a piggy bank courtesy of US Bank.
